Churhat Kothi, Bandhavgarh

Churhat Kothi is situated just a few minutes drive from the park entrance
in Bandhavgarh National Park (Madhya Pradesh - INDIA) at a distance of 6-7
hrs drive from the Khajuraho Airport .The camp is situated in 24 acres of
open grassland and meadlow land with a forest surrounding it. The park itself
comprises 437 sq. kms. of sal, bamboo and grasslands, teeming with 22 species
of mammals and over 250 species of birds.
The twelve charming suites or Kutiyas (jungle village huts) are newly built
in the 40 acre grounds of the renowned tented camp formerly known as Churhat
Kothi. The original Kothi (homestead) comprising the guest areas remains
and has been extensively renovated, but the guest accommodation is all brand
new.

The architectural style is affectionately known as MP chic (MP being the
state of Madhya Pradesh)

earth washes, open rafters with roughly-hewn wooden beams, handmade pottery
roof tiles, floors dressed in katni stone strips set in lime mortar

shower, bath, separate w.c. and house gowns in traditional MP cloth
